Faster invoicing begins this month
On Wednesday, May 27, 2009, environmental
professionals gathered at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Ottawa to hear about the
proposed
updates to Ontario Regulation 153/04 pertaining to Brownfields. A wide
spectrum of knowledge was passed along. Delegates learned about ministry-recommended timing and processes; the new Tier II modifications;
the new risk assessment model; the expedited internal processes to grant a
Record of Site Condition; the advantages and complexities of insurance and
funding; the changes to laboratory requirements and reporting limits; the
grants and loans program available for projects through the Green Municipal
Fund; and the benefits of using an ERIS report to assist in meeting the
criteria set out in the proposed Record of Site Condition application.

Although the majority of the database reports ERIS
provides fall within the set menu of standard report types, ERIS
is aware that clients will, on occasion, have requirements that differ from
those provided in our standard reports — either in shape and size of
the study area or with regards to specific database requests. To help
satisfy our clients’ needs, ERIS offers "Custom-Build Your Own
Reports". |

Since
the last newsletter there have been quite a few database updates, most
notably to some of the Generators of Waste databases
and Tank databases. |

ERIS Profile: Isabel Pereira-Peixoto, Regional Services Mgr |
||||
|
Isabel began her career at EcoLog ERIS as a Data Specialist in 2001 after graduating with a double major in Geography and French Studies from York University. She then went on to obtain her Certificate in GIS the following year from Ryerson University and quickly assumed the role of Environmental Information Analyst. With her knowledge of French, Isabel was given the task of collecting environmental data from the province of Quebec and, as a result, was an integral part in ERIS’ expansion to nation-wide coverage in 2002, one year ahead of schedule. |
||||
|
With eight years' experience at ERIS, Isabel has seen the organization grow and become what it is today. Presently, Isabel is the Regional Services Manager for Eastern Canada, a position she has held for the last three years. Part of her responsibilities still include providing high quality reports to clients and to ERIS’ Quebec clientele in particular. She is responsible for maintaining Quebec data as well as the French version of the ERIS website. Just recently, Isabel joined the sales team and is selling to the Quebec and Maritime regions. If you would like to contact Isabel, email her at ipereira@eris.ca or call her at 416-510-5204, ext. 22. |
